Academic Grants and Sponsored Research

Mission

The primary mission of the Office of Academic Grants and Sponsored Research (OAGSR) is to work with faculty, chairs, deans and administrators as they strive to foster an intellectually vibrant environment by seeking external resources from private and public agencies and foundations in support of their academic and scholarly endeavors.

Purpose

The dual purpose of this office is

• to provide leadership and assistance in increasing external funding to promote research, teaching and learning, and outreach; and
• to provide support, guidance, and oversight in implementing funded programs.

One-Stop-Shop

We work with faculty and staff in a variety of ways. As a one-stop-shop, we offer seamless assistance in all aspects of grant activity, from fund seeking to award implementation and reporting. Pre-Award services include identification of funding sources, proposal development, proposal review, and proposal approval and transmittal. Post-Award services include project management planning; establishment of grant account; guidance and oversight of purchasing, hiring, and travel; and assistance with documentation and reporting of grant activity.
